Inadvertent "Cool" emoticon
« on: September 21, 2014, 01:17:11 PM »
Is there a way to suppress emoticons/smileys for a particular situation?

Every time I type
Code: [Select]
(USB6.8) I get (USB6.8) with a "cool" smiley. Even though the "cool" emoticon is one of my favorites, in this particular case it is more of a problem. I have used [USB6.8] instead, if I catch it in the preview.

Not a big problem, and if there is no "off" control for smileys, I'll just keep using the brackets instead.

When you reply to or create a new post, you can turn-off smilely's for that post. You will find it under the "Attachments and other options" section just below the area you type-in your post contents. Click on the + to see the options available to you.

Ah! Thanks. I didn't expand that selection, but now I see it.

Or... turn off the auto-formatting selectively by surrounding it with
Code: [Select]
[nobbc](USB6.8)[/nobbc]
Then it will appear as (USB6.8) on display instead of (USB6.8)

I sort of like this one. Is there a "magic button" for it?

Yes,

Not on quick-reply, but the editor now has a button that will insert
Code: [Select]
[nobbc][/nobbc] for you.

Best regards,
Ken

Almost as bad as autocorrect. I texted a co-worker about a meeting later after work. I sent..

" ....enuf time to get a nap in..."

it came out....

".....buff time to get a nap...."
