lacrosse weather stations/ driver/pc connection problems
« on: November 10, 2007, 01:00:05 AM »
Had to install a serial card to make my system work and tried this using the cd that came with the serial card couldnt get it to connect sometimes and other times it wouldnt stay connected but i found an answer through another weather forum by going to the following web site http://www.moschip.com/index.html
I downloaded the usb connectivity mcs 7820 and mcs pci connectivity mcs 9820 to my computer and unzipped them into my program files. I then deleted the io driver with the add/delete system from the control panel, shutdown and then powered down. Took out the serial card, repowered to make sure it was gone then shut/powered down again. Reinstalled the card and this time without using the cd that came with the card, instead going to the advanced where it says you have new hardware and then used the two above and installed them instead. the weather station has been screaming and i am able to retrieve my data from way back when too. i have been on all day without a hitch. i tried emailing lacrosse, rosewill/card manufacturer, several posts and didnt get anywhere. will help anyone if they want it as i am not that great with computers but was happy i finally figured it out and now am at peace with the weatherstation and the computer. Try it its supposed to work with any equipment requiring the use of a usb connection to the pc through a serial card. It worked for me.
