Manufacturing date of SHT31
« on: October 17, 2018, 09:38:03 PM »
Is there any way to determine the manufacturing date of a SHT31? I have 2 (spare) 31s that are older than what I'm currently using. Is there any way to figure out which 31 came factory installed and which did not?

From the SHT3x datasheet:

Quote
The bottom line consists of 6 letters. The first two digits
XY (=LS) describe the output mode. The third letter (A)
represents the manufacturing year (4 = 2014, 5 = 2015,
etc).
The last three digits (BCD) represent an
alphanumeric tracking code. That code can be decoded
by Sensirion only and allows for tracking on batch level
through production, calibration and testing – and will be
provided upon justified request.

The "alphanumeric tracking code" might contain more detail, but is for the manufacturer's use only. At least you can see the year it was made.

Most IC datasheets have similar date code info.
