Marker question in GR3
« on: June 11, 2011, 07:20:52 AM »
Running two instances of GR3. On the one I have a marker set in the corner to set where I want it centered. Each time I open it up the marker is there so its easy to center.
The problem is with the second one. Each time I restart it the marker is gone. Don't know what I did with the first one to get it to stay but  this one disappears.
Anyone?

Marker or Home?  There's a difference.  Home stays put, Marker goes away on Close.

Another way is to set up a placefile.  Then you can use a different Icon if you wish.

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure you can use Home twice.  It may only work in the first (primary) instance and not in subsequent instances.  Try it and see what happens.  Or, it may only stay in whichever instance is closed last.

I have home on both sites so I can't use that. It has to be a marker. Don't know why the marker stays on KTBW but disappears on KMLB.
I think your idea of a placefile is the way to go.

I think the Marker always goes away.  Is the one that stays a + sign or a small square?

Its the small red + sign. It's always in the same place when I open it up.

The + sign represents "home" and will stay where you put it.

Here is the placefile I use to identify where my weather station is located.
