24 hour data
« on: March 28, 2014, 02:02:50 PM »
I may have missed this information elsewhere, if so my apologies.
I have a brand new Vantage Pro2 and have gotten my data to CWOP.  My question is about the availability of 24 hour data.  I have always turned off my computer and router at night.  Therefore, no data is transmitted at that time.  The data exists, but is not transferred to CWOP.  Is that by design or can I send the night time data manually the next day?
Is CWOP still interested in my data if it is not complete?
Thanks for your help.

Look at some of the other data on CWOP.  Some only send data when their ham radio is on.  I guess some data is better than no data.  Of course, you could always leave your computer on and send 24/7.  But that's totally up to you.

In Cumulus there is a "Catch up" for uploading data to WU, PWS, WeatherBug and WOW, but had not noticed before that is not provided for APRS/CWOP

That's because there is no way to "catch up", "fill in" or edit old data with CWOP. NOAA collects only current data from CWOP every 15 minutes, so even if you could edit what had been sent, NOAA would never see it.

Thank you, that is helpful.  Does this apply to Weather Underground or the other web sites?

Edit:  Oops!  I see the post above answered my question.  Thanks!
