Boltek - Warm antenna unit with possible leakage
« on: March 08, 2008, 11:59:27 AM »
All,
I just received my Boltek Storm Tracker system several days ago and have had it plugged in ever since. I noticed the unit gets fairly warm, but not too hot-to-handle... However, I noticed when I pulled the CAT5 cable out of the antenna unit, it had what appeared to be sealant on the CAT5 connector and inside the connector on the antenna... Is this normal or something that should be sent back since it's new?

The warmth is normal. Mine does the same thing and I asked the same question not too long ago. The sealant is actually dielectric grease. It keeps out moisture and corrosion and is on both antennas on mine as well. So the warmth is normal and the grease is a good thing.
